International audienceThis study investigates the effect of a generic ludic environment on learners’ motivation to do Mathematics, and more specifically literal calculation. It was conducted with 258 middle school students in 4th grade and ten sessions, representing about fifty exercises like exercise type. The goal here is to study the effects of generic gamification and to determine the characteristics of learners that could potentially influence these outcomes differently. It is found that a gamification that is not adapted, decreases the motivation of learners to do Mathematics, but when the initial level of motivation and the player profile types of learners are taken into account, different effects are observed.La ludification de ress...
