International audienceToday, relics and ex-votos are presented in both churches and museums, but they have been deprived of an essential aspect: their process of exhibition. This is the focus of this article, which highlights the case of pilgrimages, especially those of Our Lady of Loreto and the Virgin of Liesse. Starting at the end of the 15th century, the Church defined the status of these objects, and codified how they should be exhibited, whether in the sanctuary, the treasury or simply as deposits.
