As part of the research activities of the Observatoire des mondes imaginaires, this thematic issue looks at transmedia in the various content industries and information and communication services. More generally, it looks at what transmedia implies in terms of multiple forms and practices of writing, new uses and functions induced by digital transmedia, the public's participation in these new logics, and the circulation of cultural objects within social spaces.Through a variety of disciplinary and methodological approaches, these contributions offer a critical re-reading of the "paradigm" of transmediality, leading to innovative avenues of reflection that are likely to renew the academic conceptualization of this phenomenon.
