Medium- and high-entropy alloys (MEAs and HEAs) coatings have attracted increasing attention owing to their exceptional mechanical properties and potential applications in structures protective from supersonic microparticle impact. However, there are no experimental insights into their protective performance. In this study, we fabricated high-quality amorphous CoCrNi MEA coatings with a thickness of 4.5 & mu;m on the rigid and flexible substrates through ion beam-assisted deposition.
