Octupole deformation is a hot topic of nuclear physics. They are expected in several regions of the nuclear chart and notably in the neutron-deficient actinides where strong deformations are predicted. However those deformations are measured only in a limited number of cases. This thesis focuses on the study of ²²¹Ac through the α-decay spectroscopy of ²²⁵Pa at the IGISOL (Ion Guide Isotope Separation On-Line) facility, University of Jyväskylä. The level scheme of ²²¹Ac was reconstructed and interpreted as parity doublet bands arising from a static octupole deformations.
