Hot electrons (HE) are a key component in Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) implosions due to their potential fuel pre-heat effect, reducing the compressibility of targets. Laser plasma instabilities (LPIs) occurring in the coronal plasma are responsible for their generation through excitation of Electron Plasma Waves (EPWs). Common LPIs observed at OMEGA and NIF facilities and involved in HE generation are the Two Plasmon Decay (TPD), Stimulated Raman Scattering (SRS) and Langmuir Decay Instability (LDI).
