This article descusses some educational thoughts of two books which played a leading part in the study of didactics in Japan, and have much value for the construction of the theory on teaching-learning in our contemporary school. One book is "New Theory of the Intellectual Education" written by Dr. Arata OSADA in 1939, and the other is "The Principles of Teaching-learning" published by Dr. Sukeichi SHINOHARA in 1942. The former criticized the spiritual education under the fascist educational reform, explaining his pedagogical principles ; the latter developed theeducational thoughts which involve the rich moments, such as "passive activity" in teaching-learning process
