Mark Rothko (1903-70) in the representative of American Abstract Expressionism. I think his development to be more unique then any other artist on the scene. Clement Greenberg, an infulential critic, has put his finger on the logic in modern art inevitably approached the plastic plane. A matter of fact, his opinion set a proper value upon the development of modern art. But, the development of Mark Rothko might not come under Greenbergs' theory. Therefore, I tried to pursue the formation of Rothko's style in order of his age
