To know the most adequate time and the best way to swimming-training of primary school children we investigated children's swimming ability with their swimming-training for a given period. The results are as follows: 1. In the case of boys, (1) it is in third or fourth school grade that most pupils come to be able to swim with well-accompanied breathing. As their school grade grows they show the higher average of acquirement of ability, and in sixth grade pupils over 90 per-cent are able to swim. (2) Those who can swim more than 50 meter increase in number with accelerated tempo in sixth grade. 2.
