An Occupational Learning of Mentally Retarded Children

Various difficulties were found in carrying out the practical work-training at school with such equipments, staff, and whole school schedule as we have now. The co-operation of all the staff, however, made it possible to finish the first step of this research. Though we had discussions several times while carrying out this program, it was difficult to come to one conclusion as each instructor had his own personality. So, strictly speaking, the participants' evaluations of the result of this research differ from one another, but the difference does not matter, so long as we all set our eyes on children, treat them kindly, and bring them up with good care and training. As for the relation between the work-training at school and in the workshop outside of schools, there is an opinion that the latter would not be necessary if schools were furnished with enough equipments. But, since we have no one appropriate place for both kinds of training now, it is concluded that either plays an important part different from each other
