The purpose of this study is to make clear the relation between learning ability and academic adjustment in slow learners in a primary school. Sixty children of the sixth grade were devided into three groups-under achievement (UA), balanced achievement (BA) and over achievement (OA)-on the basis of academic achievement score in the Japanse language and another forty-five children of the same grade were devided into three groups-UA, BA and OA-on the basis of academic achievement score in arithmetic. And the Academic Adjustment Inventory (AAI) was given to those children. AAI is constructed of learning attitude, learning technique, learning environment and state of psychical and physical health.
