顔の認知に関する大脳半球機能差研究が,1)脳損傷患者,2)分離脳患者,3)健常成人という3つの対象別に概観された。その結果,顔の認知にとって右半球機能が重要な役割を果していることが明らかにされた。さらに,今後の課題として残されている問題についても考察が加えられた。Fourty-eight studies concerning hemispheric specialization in face recognition with subjects unilateral brain damaged,split brain,and intact adults are reviewed.The findings,in general,suggest an important role of the right hemisphere rather than the left in human face recognition.Problems which should be focussed to understand the mechanism in face recognition are examined
