Der Beitrag befasst sich mit dem Problem einer eventuellen pleonastischen Deutung der Konstruktionen mit Partikel als Verbzusatz und einer damit semantisch und zum Teil formal korrespondierenden Präposition. Das Thema bildet einen Aspekt der lokalen Modifikation der Verben. Im Fokus der Analyse liegen die präpositionalen und adverbialen Verbpartikeln. Es handelt sich um trennbare Verben. Es wird die Einteilung in die Einzelpartikel und Doppelpartikel durchgeführt, wie auch auf deren morphologischen und semantischen Unterschied eingegangen.
