MICHAEL OAKESHOTT’S THOUGHT offers theoretical considerations on a wide variety matters and is difficult to interpretation for many reasons. This article tries to present Michael Oakeshott’s conception of political theory, which cannot be understand without recognition of philosophical roots of his thought. The idealistic conception of experience implies that all kinds of knowledge are contextual. According to this notion political theory is arrested and highly limited mode of thinking.
