Journal of constructional steelAn approximate method to evaluate the buckling strength of a steel multi-story frame connected to RC core wall was derived by converting two governing equilibrium equations expressed in terms of rotations at panel points into two differential equations using finite difrerence technique. The error involved in the approximate solution is discussed in comparison with the exact solution obtained from the eigenvalue analysis of the stiffness matrix of frame-wall system, which was performed for the system with different conditions : type of beam-to-wall connection stiffness ratio of the wall, and number of stories
