It is known that rigidly-jointed pipe truss beam-columns have the high strength of the lateral-torsional buckling, since the pipe has high torsional rigidity. However, the buckling strength of pipe trusses may be reduced in some cases by the effect of local deformation arround the connection. From this point of view, experimental and theoretical investigations have been carried out. The paper presents the results of the investigation and proposes a more rational design method
