Phase relations in the VxMo1-xO2 system were investigated by a powder X-ray diffractometry for samples quenched from 1373K. The results are shown in Fig. 4 together with those reported by Marinder. Two types of crystal structures were found in this system. One was MoO2-type(M1) and another was rutile-type (R) structure. Boundary of M1 and R was estimated as x=0.32 by X-ray diffraction patterns of the samples (Fig.1). At x=0.20, two phases with same MoO2-type structure coexisted, and two-phase region was estimated as 0.18≦x≦0.22(Fig.2).
