A 13-year-old female has been suffering from chronic sinusitis and bilateral otitis media with effusion since her early childhood. She has been pointed out situs inversus. Transmission electron microscopic examination of nasal mucosa confirmed a lack of inner dynein arm of nasal cilia, and she was diagnosed as having Kartagener's syndrome. She underwent endoscopic sinus surgery for chronic sinusitis and myringoplasty for a perforation of the right tympanic membrane caused by tympanostomy tube insertion. Chronic sinusitis accompanied by Kartagener's syndrome is discussed in relation to surgical management
