Education for sustainable water consumption in multinational collaboration teachers training: Goals and challenges

Field trips are at the heart of learning geography. How to make the spaces accessible for the students in a virtual format? How using virtual field trips in geography education and the classroom? This question will be addressed during the session. A virtual field trip is a learning approach that has three characteristics (Stainfield et al., 2000): (1) Virtual is meant to be a digital alternative to reality. (2) It allows the exploration of space without being on the actual site. (3) It is based on an interactive digital environment. We have developed a design based research which aims to formalize a didactic approach for the use of virtual excursions. We have experimented with the creation and use of virtual excursions in the perspective of an experiential geography (Leininger-Frézal, 2016) in teacher training at our respective universities.
