Magister Artium (Development Studies) - MA(DVS)This research aims at assessing the determinants of migrant remittances through a case study of the Ugandan Community in Cape Town. In order to objectively state the determinants of migrant remittances, the study focuses on the socio-economic status of migrants, as well as pure altruism and self-interest migrant remittance theories to provide a background for this study. Policy and documentary analysis was used to complement the qualitative and quantitative research findings derived from interviews and questionnaires with a variety of key stakeholders.
