伊豆式根島から発見されたササラダニ類の2新種

Two new species of oribatid mites, Metrioppia tricuspidata sp. n. and Eremobelba munuta sp. n., were found from soil and litter samples taken at the islet of Shikine, Central Japan. The former species is characterized by the tricuspidate rostral apex and the latter by the barbed notogastral setae with a short flagelliform tip. In the course of ecological study of oribatid fauna of Shikine Islet many unnamed species of oribatids were found. Among them, two species were described here as new species, one of them belonging to the family Metrloppiidae and the other to the family Eremobelbidae
