It has been difficult to predict performances of mixed flow pump at low discharge because of difficulty in theoretical treatment of recirculation flow at impeller inlet and outlet. The present study proposes a new method predicting pump overall performances in wide discharge range by introducing an appropriate recirculation flow model at an impeller inlet into quasi-three-dimensional flow calculation and by determining hydraulic loss analysis.
