Albee has been linked with European dramatists of the absurd. It is true that he is fully aware of their theatrical vision and indeed he has adopted their method and style. But it is noticeable that he has been preoccupied with illusions that screen man from reality. He is not concerned with the absurdity of reality but rather the absurdity of illusion.
