Matthew Feldman, fittingly for someone who works on the unique, the difficult and the uniquely difficult, has had an unusual career. After completing a PhD on Samuel Beckett’s psychological and philosophical sources, he has held roles as a lecturer, reader and professor in modern history at Oxford Brookes, Northamp- ton and Teesside. He remains Emeritus Professor in the History of Ideas, as well as being a Professorial Fellow at the University of York. Feldman was the founder and director of the Centre for Analysis of the Radical Right (CARR). He has published extensively on history, literature and fascism.
