Among the safe and environment friendly methods for the fight against pests and agricultural crops protection, Bacillus thuringiensis based biopesticides are the most widely used. The insecticidal activity of B. thuringiensis resides in the production of protein crystal inclusions called δ-endotoxins, which are formed during sporulation. Preliminary to this work, new B. thuringiensis strains were isolated from Lebanese soil and showed higher insecticidal potential than the conventionally used strains.
