The impact of thermal gradients on material transfer in porous media is still poorly understood, mainly due to the complexity of coupled phenomena such as thermodiffusion and the Soret effect. The aim of this thesis is to study and understand the influence that a thermal gradient can have on the flow of a mixture. The main objective is to determine the effective coefficients modeling heat and matter transfer in porous media, and in particular the effective thermodiffusion coefficient. Using the volume-averaged scaling technique, we have developed a macroscopic dispersion model including thermodiffusion.
