Saussure's 'Course in General Linguistics', is a book dealing with a particular topic in the broader subject of 'Language'. It was compiled and put into book form, after his death, with the help of notes collected by his students from his lectures given in the University of Geneva. It is a common mistake that his lectures (this book) contains a great deal of material upon which the huge theories of Structuralism and Post-Structuralism were formulated. A thorough study of the books rectifies the error. More-over this study also clarifies the aspect that there are some short comings in the Saussurean Linguistic Model too, to rectify them, is the work of Linguists
