EFEKTIVITAS GERAKAN LITERASI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN MINAT BACA SISWA SD NEGERI SUWA’AN 3 MODUNG

With the development of the current digitalization era, students' interest in reading is decreasing, this has a huge impact on the literacy movement. Laziness to read is the cause of students' low interest in reading. If this is allowed, literacy, especially in Indonesia, will be even lower. Students read but have not been able to grasp the meaning of what they read. Reading skills can improve a person's ability to understand various concepts easily. This develops critical thinking skills in children. Understanding concepts and critical thinking are two important qualities of a successful individual. Apart from that, reading also improves one's vocabulary, command of language, and communication skills. Trends show that someone who reads is able to concentrate on their studies. The ability to read is directly related to good writing skills, because people who rarely read will have difficulty finding vocabulary when writing. To improve the quality of education and quality resources produced in the learning process, the government made a breakthrough by holding a school literacy movement. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the literacy movement to increase students' reading interest in SD Negeri Suwa'an 3 Modung. This study uses qualitative research with a descriptive analysis approach because this research aims to obtain a picture of what happened in the field, using data collection techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. In this study, researchers conducted observations in class IV of SD Negeri Suwa'an 3 Modung with interview respondents conducted with 7 students. The results of this study show that the literacy movement at SD Negeri Suwa'an 3 Modung is effective. This is known from the activities of students who are literate both during learning, during recess and outside school hours
