Mental health has become a worldwide concern, given the growing number of individuals suffering from different psychological problems; thus, the increase in the demand for psychotherapists to provide mental health services. While studies usually focus on fostering the psychological health of clients, this qualitative research aims to explore the perceived effects of the practice of psychotherapy on the therapists, as well as the self-care practices of the psychotherapists in attaining and maintaining mental health. Results of the study show both negative and positive effects of the practice of psychotherapy on the therapist.
