Purpose – The success of economic green growth requires the degree of elasticity of substitution between the clean and dirty energy inputs to be more than one. This research studies the dynamics of the elasticity of substitution between the two energy inputs in the context of an economic growth model described by a CES nested into Cobb-Douglas specification function energy inputs. We also estimate the output elasticities of clean and dirty energy inputs. We use an updated version of the dataset compared to the previous literature on this field.
