This article aims to trace the literary path of the mythical character known as Ariadne, princess of Crete and daughter of King Minos, in Latin literature. Thus, in Metamorphoses VIII, 172-182, Heroides X, and Art of Love I, 525-562, she was occasionally fashioned with the features of a victim, or at least of someone at the mercy of the will of others. However, the same character exhibits traits of strength in Catullus’ Poem 64 and Ovid’s Fasti III, 459–516, as she rebels against the abuses she endures.Neste artigo, procura-se acompanhar na literatura latina a trajetória da personagem mítica identificada como Ariadne, filha do rei Minos e princesa de Creta.
