This article discusses the problems faced by Geography teachers to work with the concept of place, to study the municipality in the Early Years of Elementary School, due to the lack of information, data on Geography and the History of the territory. This makes teaching conditions with severe limitations. The objective, in this text, is to present evidence of the importance of the case study of each municipality, to strengthen the teaching and study of the place. It is important to identify the municipality as a political-administrative division with territorial-legal organization mediated by the social life relations of the population.
