This article discusses the important role of character education in building strong nationalities and strengthening local culture in Elementary Schools. Character education is a necessary effort to form attitudes, values, and positive behavior in children from an early age. Through character education, children can be taught about national values such as love of the homeland, a sense of unity, and gotong royong. In addition, character education also strengthens awareness and appreciation of the local culture that is the identity of the nation. The Elementary School has a strategic role as the first educational institution for children in building nationalities and strengthening local cultures.
