The objective of this article was to explore health management by the local authorities of Cadiz during the yellow fever pandemic in 1800. To this end, it addresses the global development of this outbreak and its consequences for the population of Cadiz, studies the first measures adopted, and examines the steps taken to eradicate the epidemic. The sources used for this investigation come from the Municipal Historical Archive of Cadiz, the Provincial Historical Archive of Cadiz, the Archive of Cadiz Cathedral, and the National Historical Archive, as well as from the wide range of medical literature that appeared on this disease.
