In the later half of 1980s, personal computers were guradually introduced at schools. Although personal computers will make a contribution to special education, teachers face some problems because of the poor quality of some of the available computer-assisted instruction software. This paper indicated some of problems concerning computers in contemporary special education. The following conclusion are made : 1. In some special schools, computers are use as teaching devices like CAI, in which teachers produced their own software. Teachers must wast considerable time for programing their own software. 2. Personal computers as communication aid are usable for physical handicapped students. But students with mental handicapped react negatively....
