In the metropolitan areas, rising market land prices are one of serious problems awaiting solution. In order to restrain market land prices from rising, standard land values of selected lots are published by the National Land Agency and the prefectural authorities every year. These are named "Koji Kakaku" or "Hyojyun Kakaku". By using standard land values as basic datum, the author analyzed the areal difference and the time-seriestic one of the formation of land values in the northwestern part of Nara prefecture which is situated on the Osaka metropolitan areas.
