OKI (1985) argued "viewpoints for an analysis of greeting behavior in Japanese" and gave "a model for description of greeting behavior". This model aimed at description of greeting behavior from linguistic viewpoints. In this paper, I researclled some teaching materials and revealed the relation between this model and the method for the analysis of teaching materials. The main topics are as follows: (1) Three types of greeting behavior (See Table 1). (2) Four components for description of greeting behavior (See Table 2). (3) The linguistic model is useful for the analysis of teaching materials
