The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of swimming training on myoglobin(Mb) content and enzyme activity in murine skeletal muscle. ICR male mice were assigned to control, mild exercise, moderate exercise and heavy exercise groups. Exercise groups were trained by swimming treadmill 5 days per week for 12 weeks. The body weight and adipose tissue weight of mice in moderate and heavy exercise groups were significantly lower than those in control group. Swimming time to exhausion in heavy exercise group (82 ±36min) was significantly (P<0.001) longer than that of control group(21 ±11min).
