The aim of this study was to assess the microbiological quality of refrigerated raw milk at different points along its journey from the farm to the dairy industry in Serra Gaúcha-RS, in accordance with the requirements of current Brazilian legislation. The standard plate count (SPC) microbiological analysis was used as an indicator of milk quality. The results indicate that the refrigerated raw milk stored by the dairy had PPCs above the limit established by current legislation, suggesting the existence of contamination points along the milk production, collection and storage route.
