Impressions of the bark of two small lycophytes, Bumbudendron paganzianum gen. et sp. nov. and Bumbudendron nitidum sp. nov., are described from middle Carboniferous shales in the Sierra de Paganzo. Lepidodendroid leaf cushions with a well-developed leaf scar showing a single trace, and the presence of a fertile branch structure, invite comparison with Bodeodendron/Sporangiostrobus of the contemporaneous equatorial belt. The presence of an infrafoliar bladder provides the main distinguishing character. Small stem impressions with a thick cuticle are recorded of the simple lycophyte Malanzania nana gen. et sp. nov. which has false leaf scars corresponding to spiny excrescences. These remains have been found in the middle Carboniferous of Mal...
