Background: Neuropsychiatric symptoms of dementia are treated with pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions; however, their comparative efficacy and safety is largely unknown. As practice patterns shift because of concerns regarding antipsychotic safety, we need to understand the efficacy and safety of alternative interventions.
