This study provides a one year follow-up on the resettlement experiences of four Syrian refugee families living in Canada. More specifically, this study focuses on the language and literacy development of refugee children. Overall, a lack of development in English and Arabic proficiency was noted among refugee children. A closer analysis of the learning environments of refugee children demonstrated there was a lack of support available at home and in school.M.A
