Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the leading cause of cancer related mortality and accounts for more than 1.6 million deaths worldwide each year. In the past decade, therapeutic treatments for NSCLC have extended beyond surgery and standard chemotherapies. These advancements have largely focused on the identification of oncogenic drivers and assessment of their ability to predict response to targeted therapy. Despite these advancements, the lack of initial response to single agent treatment and acquired drug resistance are recurring issues that arise in NSCLC.
