This work gives preliminary information on the taxonomic determinations for the micromammal fossil material from the locality of exceptional preservation of Casa Montero (Madrid). The proposed taxonomic assignations have allowed the correlation of this fossil material with localities belonging to the biozone E (middle Aragonian, middle Miocene) of Daams et al. (1999). Finally, several taphonomic considerations are made aiding to understand how this fossiliferous locality of exceptional richness and quality formed.
