The current study, conducted in two segments, assessed the feasibility of implementing a manualized support group for siblings who had experienced the death of a brother or sister from cancer. Part 1 was carried out with a convenience sample of 10 children, aged 6 - 14 years, who attended the program. With respect to acceptability, retention rates, and treatment fidelity, positive outcomes were obtained. Results of standardized questionnaires completed by parents indicated significant improvements in overall, emotional, and social quality of life, and trend-level reductions in problem behaviours and distress symptoms.
