Mammals (including humans), birds, fish, and insects, have all demonstrated female biased immunity; relative to males, females typically show lower incidences of infection, lower pathogen loads and initiate stronger immune responses. Using a variety of insect systems I investigate what factors may be responsible for sex differences in immunity. In the sex-role reversed katydidPh.D.2018-02-19 00:00:0
