In response to pronounced climate variations in Benin since the 1970s, adaptation strategies have emerged as the only alternative to reduce the vulnerability of rural populations. However, these announced saving strategies have been ineffective because of lack of initial assessment. The objective of this study is to determine farmers’ adaptation strategies to climate variability and change that are the most effective and efficient for maize production in the highly vulnerable area of North Benin.
