In spite of it is now nine decades since boron (B) was demonstrated to be essential for normal growth of plants, its biochemical role is not well understood at the moment. B is an important micronutrient with a difficult management because of its phloem mobility varies dramatically among vegetable species with deficiency and toxicity symptoms in a quite narrow range.
