grantor: University of TorontoThis report presents a set of experiments conducted using the peel adhesion test, "PAT", to evaluate the adhesion of a coating on different substrates as well as the adhesion of the coating on substrates with different surface roughness. Finally the effect of two different particle sizes of Ni powder on the adhesion of Ni coatings was examined. These results then were analyzed to correlate the measured adhesion with microstructural features. It was found that the adhesion of the coating to the softer, lower melting point materials is the highest when studying the effect of different substrate materials.
