The cognitive impairment in schizophrenia might involve broad orselective cognitive domains and has major importance in predictingthe quality of life and psychosocial functioning of patients. For thisreason, in the evaluation of the efficacy of treatment withantipsychotic drugs, their effects on cognition are very important. Theaim of the present paper is to describe the features of the cognitiveimpairments in schizophrenia and to review the studies investigatingthe effects of antipsychotic drugs on the cognitive disorders in schizophrenia
